Sohail led the venture from its original idea: turning live football data into a game fans could play while watching a match. His responsibilities spanned product vision, fundraising, building and leading the development team, and taking the experience from concept to market.

From founding a live fantasy game to acquisition and the GameOn × LALIGA launch.
Sohail founded UFL, a second-screen fantasy game played live during football matches, and scaled it to 1.6 million downloads. Its successor, FanClash, was acquired by GameOn.

FanClash, developed as UFL 2.0
Founder responsibility
UFL in play
Second-screen football, as fans played it.
From UFL to FanClash
FanClash kept the live game and removed almost everything else.
UFL's experience ran across around 30 screens. Developed as UFL 2.0, FanClash reduced it to three: pick four players, use each player's single power-up and trade at the right moment, and follow the score live. Small rooms of five gave way to one global leaderboard, live chat was added, and the model moved from virtual currency to subscriptions and advertising.
The redesign focused on how fans actually watch. During a live match, fans pick up their phones for moments, not minutes, so every important action — a pick, a trade, a power-up — had to be possible in a few seconds.

GameOn × LALIGA
After acquisition: launching GameOn × LALIGA
As VP of Operations at GameOn, Sohail led the GameOn × LALIGA launch, alongside a product revamp and engineering rebuild, growing revenue from zero to $1M in 12 months.
The LALIGA product carried the live format forward: fans choose a fixture and four players, then play the match live with boosts, a live leaderboard and daily rewards.
